Abstract
Objectives: The aim of this study was to demonstrate the protective effect of fluoride on aluminuin distribution in tissues of rats after administration of aluminum only or combined with fluoride.

Methods: Thirty five female Spraque-Dawley rats were randomly divided into five groups(group I, 11, 111, IV and V). The first group(group I ) was feed with re-distilled water as control, the second(group 11) was intraperitoneally(1P) injected 0.69 mg A1 once a week, the third(group III) was received 1 ppm NaF, the fourth(group IV) was received 20 ppm NaF and the fifth(group V) was received 100 ppm NaF for every day with IP injected 0.69 mg Al. After 24 weeks, kidney, liver, brain and femur were extracted, respectively. Inorganic ions(aluminum, calcium, magnesium, iron) were analyzed with Inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrophotometer(1CP-AES).

Results: After 24 weeks, aluminum was significantly reduced at aluminum combined fluoride group(group 11, 111, TV and V) in liver, kidney, cerebmm(p ( 0.05). Contents of calcium, magnesium, CdMg ratio and iron were not remarkably changed by treating aluminum and fluoride.

Conclusion: These results demonstrated that fluoride exerted a reducing effect against distribution of aluminum by forming an inactive complexes of aluminum and fluoride.
